Any Idea On What The Second James Cameron Avatar Will Be About?
i am just wondering because it was such a great movie, but i can’t really come up with what a sequal might be, james said he would make 2 sequals if successful, and i think 1.3 billion is successful.
I have inside info on this matter. The version of the film that released in theaters is 15-20 mins shorter than the dvd version that comes out in summer. In the dvd version, you see that Neytiri is in fact pregnant, after an extended Na’vi sex scene (where Jake and Neytiri bond their hair). Also, there is an idea that James wanted to explore the underground of Pandora and/or the water creatures. Also, the producer said that the movie might explore other moon surround the gas giant Polymepheus, which Pandora orbits. Two years before Jake lands on Pandora, a spaceship launched from earth, so it is planned to land on Pandora four years after the movie ends. Since the humans leaving the alien planet at the end of the first movie have no way of contacting the other ship that is going TOWARD Pandora, it is destined to land, bringing more humans, that are confused of the desertification of humans on the alien planet. Also, Quartrich may not be dead, as assumed, as the network of communication on pandora (which exists even in the grass), can absorb and store DNA, the same way it can store voices in the Tree of Voices. So technically, Quartrich is not “over” until his DNA is destroyed.
I hoped i gave all of you something to think about.
Cameron should just leave it where it’s at. A sequel would be too much.
Avatar was visually stunning, conceptually brilliant (in terms of the planet itself, the plants and animals, and their connection to nature). But the storyline left much to be desired, and yet, I hardly even noticed. To top that is a near impossible task. Rarely do sequels ever live up to the original, and in fact, I can only really think of a one example: The Dark Knight to Batman Begins. Trilogies like starwars (IV-VI), lord of the rings, and the matrix don’t count because that is one storyline that could basically be told in one coherent (though long) movie.
Look at spiderman. Each movie was worse than the last. Same with the “oceans 11″ movies. Cameron has already told the story of the Na’vi, and while it left me wanting more, any attempt at a sequel would be either repetitive (humans return with bigger numbers) or without the magic of the first (new aliens, or warring tribes, or Eywa becomes angry, none of which sounds particularly interesting). But Cameron seems pretty creative, so perhaps he has some new incredible idea for a sequel. Let’s hope he thinks long and hard before attempting such a feat.
This was the most expensive film to make EVER. It took 13 years. Of course he says and does want to make a sequel but i think even he doesn’t know how he would make it as good as the first. There are barely any successful films when the sequel didn’t ruin the magic
I think he’s got to work on his science fiction “reality.”
A guy in a wheel chair? A ship that lands using thrusters?
The film was a visual delight – but it was not very unique.
Tribal aliens being invaded by evil man.
A love story built within the plot.
A guy that finds a better way to live – but can’t really live his dream.
All fairly predictable plot and storyline.
I wasn’t really impressed with the story.
At the end of the movie he said they (the evil humans) will be back with bigger numbers, so my assumption would be another big battle with the evil humans.
Yeah the sequel should be that the Na’vi hijack some spaceships from the earth and then attack and take over the earth.
Humans send another party out to Pandora and the Na’vi have to protect their planet yet again.
I have not seen it yet. Apparently it’s pretty good.
